A Good Place to Be

Survival mode. I've taken classes and workshops designed to teach you how to survive the elements in the event of misfortune. Conserve sustenance and energy. Avoid cliffs and bears. Be visible to rescuers. Do what you need to do to maintain your life. This is how I feel I've been living. When things get tough, I hunker down. I think that I have to handle everything to get it all done. But the problem is, it doesn't work! I may be good at handling some details, but can't do it all. And then I see that things are slipping and I panic more, and worry more and start chasing even smaller details and eventually end up broken and discouraged.

But it is actually a good place to be. On my way there, I've whispered to myself to stop and rethink the course. I know it isn't the right way to go, that He can hold onto all of it for me--but remember I'm also panicking and so I drown out the whispers with what-ifs and anxieties.

Finally tonight, I realize I can't do it anymore. It's too much and I don't want it. I surrender. and I get it. He has been taking care of it ALREADY! He's been tugging at my heart to see HIS plans, but I haven't been able to look away from my own priorities. He's been giving me concrete, real life, in my face examples of his goodness and faithfulness. I've been trying so hard to survive, I nearly missed out on the fullness He's been working on.

Lord, help me to remain broken. I can't do it by myself--I don't need to cling to it, because you've already got it. Let me cling to you. Let me see your works, live in them, and feel your tugging. You are all I need for this, and for everything.

Welcome!

Welcome to the secret inner stories and musings of the W Family! Members of the W Family will include myself--Lady W.--and my soon to be hubby, who until he comes up with something else is Sir W. We need a place for us to keep track of all of our thoughts and pictures and blogging is in fact all the rage right now. Our family legally starts in 46 days, 3 minutes, and 50 seconds. 49. 48...

Things are fairly crazy and over-whelming right now. But we did have fun with a scanner gun last night!
